Case Studies

We believe that the easiest way to de-risk oil exploration is to not look for new oil (Wildcatting) but to re-work existing wells that are already in production. In this way we achieve a 100% strike rate with zero risk.

Before we treat any well it must pass a rigorous set of criteria covering more than 25 separate points. These include, Oil to Gas ratio, Density of Water, Flow behind the casing, number of Perforations per foot, Reservoir Temperature etc. Only after the well has passed this test and we know that it is also producing more than 10bbls per day do we undertake our specialized well stimulation.

The examples below are just a few of the many oil wells that have had a significant increase in production after being treated with either Plasma Pulse Technology (PPT) or WASP technology.

The average uplift in production across the all of the wells that have been treated to date is in excess of 135%.

“We had budgeted to do an acid job to condition our well, anticipating 15 – 20 Barrels of oil per day. As a replacement for a standard acid treatment, we evaluated the Plasma Pulse Technology treatment and became comfortable using it in place of our planned treatment. At this point, there is absolutely no doubt this technology works and we look forward to further monitoring our results and the possibility of treating other wells.”

Doug Hewitt, Richfield Oil & Gas Company’s CEO

“Normally we would have fracked the new perforation zone but since we’ve seen such incredible results already from Propell’s technology we wanted to use only the plasma treatment and see what happened. I must say, this technology works great!”

Oil executive Tim Peara commented enthusiastically about Novas’ plasma pulse technology on his Creek County, Oklahoma oilfields: “their plasma treatment quickly and cheaply boosted output in treated wells from 90% to 300%!” He added, “as an unexpected bonus, it also shook up a few nearby wells, doubling their production, too.”

“I was skeptical at first but thought what the heck Columbus took a chance, I am very pleased that I did they were able to double the production on both wells that they performed the service on, I look forward to using their services in the future Josh Heck with Bus. Journal will be contacting you.”

  • Western Canada

    Montney Shale

During March 2016 in just over two hours, Blue Spark increased the oil rate by 166% using WASP stimulation to treat severe calcium carbonate scale build-up.

Previous acid treatments had little effect but using an acid treatment in tandem with WASP, the oil rate increased to six times the original production.

  • Western Canada

    Heavy Oil

In July 2016 a non-producing well in Western Canada saw sustained production averaging 5.7 bbl/day over one year after successful WASP treatment.

A half-day treatment by the Blue Spark team saw worm-holes re-initiated in the unconsolidated sandstone (CHOPS) heavy oil well.

  • North Sea

    Offshore Platform

Our WASP® technology cleared barium sulphate scale from a well on a small unmanned production platform in the North Sea.

Production increased by 173% and clearly demonstrates WASP’s effectiveness at removing barriers to production.

  • Canada

    Eastern Canada

In March 2017 WASP® remediation was used to successfully recover oil production in a well damaged by drilling.

In less than one day, fractures were created in the near wellbore region and the oil production went from negligible to 90 STB/day for over 90 days

  • Eastern Canada

    Slave Point

In August 2017 WASP® removes calcium carbonate scale quickly and simply.
Oil production is dramatically increased after WASP treatment.

  • Western Canada

    Northern Alberta

We provided a quick-fix for a client’s water wells for steam-assisted gravity drainage-type oil production. A quick WASP® treatment in July 2017, resulted in an eight-fold increase in oil production.

  • Texas, USA

    Permian Basin

Fast treatment means fast results with WASP® technology
Oil and gas production doubled in wells treated by Blue Spark in the Permian Basin during April 2017

  • Western Canada

    Gething oil zone

In October 2016 our WASP® technology treats carbonate scale build up to more than doubled oil production in treated wells

  • Canada

    Central Alberta

Blue Spark technology doubled oil production in a mature oilfield in central Alberta in April 2017.

This case study demonstrates how WASP® breathes new life into mature, conventional oilfields.

  • USA

In June 2017 our WASP® technology unclogged thermal heavy oil wells blocked with organic material and fine sediments.
Oil production was five times greater after treatment by the Blue Spark team
